Monocrystal - world’s leading provider of sapphire products and metallization pastes to semiconductor and photovoltaic industries has signed a long-term loan agreement with IFC, a member of the World Bank Group.

The five-year loan will facilitate Monocrystal manufacturing capacity expansion in response to the LED and renewable energy visible market growth rates. Once again acquiring the loan the company will prove its position of reliable and progressively developing market leader.

Monocrystal participated in EU PVSEC 2009 held in Hamburg from 21 to 25 of September, 2009. European Photovoltaic Solar Exhibition and Conference is considered as the most important global event for information exchange and market development in the field of photovoltaics. This year it was coordinated by the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA).

With a total of more than 44,000 participants and specialised visitors, the 24th EU PVSEC broke visitor records. Of the total, 4,295 were registered as conference participants. 44,180 specialised visitors attended the parallel industry exhibition.

Monocrystal, Inc. announced that Oleg Kachalov, SVP and CTO, presented at BLUE 2009. The leading LED material and device business conference took place at the Ambassador Hotel in Hsinchu, Taiwan on June 8–9, 2009. For 2009, Blue has been focused on the material, epitaxial and device technology market as it relates to the LED industry.

Mr. Mikhail Berest – former VP Purchasing Director at Monocrystal was named new VP Sales and Marketing. The position was taken up after Dr.Oleg Kachalov who was appointed CTO. Mrs. Maria Sabelnikova became VP HR Director and Mr. Andrey Shamin - VP Purchasing Director.
